Health Trainer Event 2010
 
The 4th Annual Yorkshire and Humber Health Trainer Connference was held at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium in Leeds on 28th April 2010, and was based on the theme of "Innovation"

Alyson McGregor gave a presentation on the Altogether Better programme, a regional collaboration hosted by NHS Yorkshire & Humber which aims to build capacity and capability through personal and community development with the help of Community Health Champions

 

Erica Ward and Marilyn Healy from West Yorkshire Metro presented a workshop on the benefits of collaboration between the transport sector and the NHS in promoting Public Health  

 

 
 

The day was a great success with over 150 people attending and taking part in a broad range of workshops focusing on innovative practice in Health Trainer services across the region

Geoff Dart, Health Trainer Coordinator from YHIP, presented a workshop on the pilot Offender Health work taking place in Bradford, with the aim of promoting public heath through training and employing offenders as Health Trainer Champions, (HTC).  

Simon White from NHS Bradford & Airedale presented a workshop on Social Prescribing Health Trainers. This area focuses on improving the health and wellbeing of

 

people with social, emotional or practical needs through referral to local, non-clinical services.
